This week, we sent out a visible signal of our regional ties: four plane trees around 30 years old were planted on the festival site near Dinkelsbühl.
The impressive trees, which weigh between 8 and 10 tons each and reach heights of a good 10 meters, will not only enrich the landscape in future, but will also provide natural shade for visitors during the festival in August.
“With this planting campaign, we want to underline our close connection to the region and make a sustainable contribution for future generations,” explains Achim Ostertag, organizer of the Summer Breeze Open Air. “We have been thinking about this for a long time, but now we have finally been able to realize our plan. It is a pioneering step for more nature – but also a very practical one for more shade on the site.”
The project was also accompanied by Manuel Kiesel, Project Manager for Construction Infrastructure and Site Planning. Together with Ostertag, they are committed to the green development of the festival site.
By the start of the festival in August, the trees should be well established and provide welcome oases of shade – an investment in comfort on our site.
