An extraordinary band from Chile is our guest for the first time in 2025. MAWIZA.
MAWIZA is a modern metal band that belongs to the Mapuche nation. This is a group of indigenous people from the south of Chile. MAWIZA honor their ancestors by singing exclusively in the Mapuzungun language. The band recorded their new album in the New York studio of Joe Duplantier (Gojira), who can be heard on one of the tracks. MAWIZA have already successfully supported Gojira, Mercyful Fate and Mastodon. Armed with thunderous riffs, pounding grooves, tribal chants and ancient folk instruments, these metallic warriors are fierce advocates of the historical struggles of the Mapuche people and can be seen for the first time in Dinkelsbühl in August.
